Publisher Description

Can an army combat veteran find love with an alien prince from another planet, or will the machinations of her ex-husband lead to disaster for both worlds?

What happens when an ebook in cyberspace ends up in outer space? It turns a failed author into a bestselling one. On another planet.

Wounded army vet turned English teacher Mara Eldress figures her flop of a memoir has sentenced her to the bottom of the slush pile… until she discovers her book is massively popular with space aliens.

Who knew a book signing tour would take an author to a distant planet?

Enter Vikk Stravdas. Sexy. Smoldering. Sinful. And an alien prince who claims to be in love with her book. He offers to transport her to his home planet of Vraithe where she's a famous celebrity.

Yeah, sure.

The man's hot but bonkers. However, after attempting to call his bluff, Mara is beamed away by Vikk the hunky extraterrestrial, and her life turns into a whirlwind romance.

Talk about close encounters of the spicy kind. One small step for a writer, one giant leap into an alien's sexual paradise, boldly going where no woman has gone before.

Mara wonders if she should ditch her anonymous life and remain a celebrity on the beautiful planet Vraithe… until her evil ex-husband stirs the pot back on Earth, causing a series of unfortunate events that require Mara's return, which triggers consequences that affect both planets.

With lives on the line, will Mara be able to write her own happily ever after with Vikk?

[Author Message: please note that this novel is told using multiple points of view (POV) in order to tell a dynamic, well-rounded story set on two planets, Earth and Vraithe. Even minor characters may get a short section in their POV. I hope you will trust me as an author, as I did this on purpose, as several sections early on pay bigger dividends later in the story. If multiple POVs are not your jam, please sample the novel to get a flavor of the set-up. You can read the first three chapters on my website. Thanks! and Happy Reading!]

Claiming the Heart of Vraithe Reviews

“I really liked Vikk and Mara but could have done without some of the side characters. Vikk is so sweet and just wants to make sure Mara & Finley are taken care of. I liked the Vraithean planet and how the portals work, etc. I did feel that from the time meeting Vikk and finding out he was an alien to immediately going to his planted was a bit quick considering the length of the book. I feel the author could have taken a bit more time to form some sort of relationship there. My issue with this book was the different POV's. I thought there were way too many and the book bounced back and forth too much. I think the book would have flowed a bit better if it stayed with the two (maybe three) main POV's and didn't switch around as much. Overall I did enjoy the story and the way they dealt with all of the issues. The spice was really good and the HEA was great. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.”
“There was a *lot* going on in this book! In this story, Mara, a former military officer and current high school teacher's memoir was a failure on Earth, but a huge success on the planet Vraithe. Vikk is working on the movie version of her book, and asks her to help him with the script. Mara agrees because Vikk has offered to help her daughter who has been sickly for years. The majority of the story takes place on Vraithe, where Mara and Vikk become a couple, Finley (Mara's daughter) meets friends and a boyfriend, and becomes healthier. Meanwhile Finley's dad uses their disappearance from Earth to get attention. There is also, AFAIK, the only LGBTQ+ relationship in a sci fi/alien book, where Mara's friend meets Vikk's sister, and they will be the main couple in the next Vraitheian book :) (and I've read hundreds of this type of book) Though the book was longer than I normally prefer to read, I enjoyed the story and the characters. I received an advanced copy and am giving an honest review.”
