“I adored this book so much. It took me a bit of time to get through but only because I wanted to savor every minute of the story. I loved Chloe and Nico so much that I didn't want to rush through it. I wanted to be totally enmeshed in their world, and I was, and it was amazing. Just everything really jived for me with its perfect rhythm and flow.
This book demonstrated what journey that I want to go on in romance novel. It was angsty. It was intense. It was emotional. The characters I really identified with and felt for. I loved that there was all this backstory between Chloe and Nico that created wealth and depth in the story. There was lots of good build up and anticipation between Chloe and Nico that really upped their passion once it finally got released. There were lots of sexy/sensual moments between them that set the pages aflame. It was passionate. And so much more.
I also really loved about this book was how both Chloe and Nico pushed each other out of their comfort zones. Nico did it more blatantly especially in the beginning wanting her to gain confidence in herself and just start to believe she could do anything she set her mind to but always being behind her to support her. Something about that really touched me. It made me fall in love with him more.
And I loved him so much. It was clear the depths of emotions that he had for Chloe were right there from the beginning even though he fought it. It showed in so many little ways he cared about her. He was a rock for her even when she didn't think he was. He was just so sweet and lovely towards her that it warmed my insides. He genuinely wanted to help he becoming all that he knew she could be, and would push if he had to. He had every confidence in her. He believed in her. And that was just beautiful to watch. He was very unselfish too thinking of her wants instead of his own even if that meant not giving into desire for her.
I loved the push and pull of their entire journey in this book. It was kind of a fight, though an entertaining one, until they finally got to together. It was clear that they both wanted each other both physically and emotionally, but barriers kept in their way. There were a few of them but the major one was Nico's ability to control his desire for Chloe based on a promise he made to her dad. And it was an internal struggle that I wholeheartedly felt and was consumed in for their entirety of the book. It was very cat and mouse. They would get close than he pull away. It was such a fun ride.
Also this book had some of the most sexy yet very sensual scenes that I have ever read. The one scene where she was working on his personal fragrance I thought I was going to jump out of my skin. That scene was just so charged on every level, it was a wonder that they didn't go at it right there and then. Talk about upping the sexual tension. Then there was the pool scene that upped the ante more that I thought it could be. I thought I was going thought I was going to catch fire. Again great foreplay. I loved the dance scene because again it upped the sexual tension with all the fizzles there, and was just leading to some hot, steamy love scenes that were worth the wait. It was a great payoff after all those teases. This book teased me lot. I loved it.
Just everything about it was amazing, and I don't have a single complaint. I could go on and on about what I loved about this book, but really it was everything. Every moment. Every touch. Every kiss. Every emotion on display. Just so much yummy goodness that I couldn't help but love. It was awesome.
This one goes on the favorite pile. am so looking forward to reading this winner again.
Highly recommend for Presents fans as well as fans of angsty, sexually charged romances.”
