“The book is obviously very well researched and very detailed. But that’s exactly what made it difficult for me to read - I felt like I was reading an encyclopedia. The author meticulously describes every single tiny aspect of Vikings life in such minute detail, that it’s really hard to keep up with. I wish the book was centered around a major character or an event and then unfold accordingly as for me it felt like literally reading through an index or a dictionary. Wish I could’ve loved this book as I can tell how much work and research has been put into it”
