Child of Shivay

By JR Cathers
Child of Shivay by JR Cathers digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Two hundred years ago, when mortals hunted the fea toward extinction, the Ancients sundered the veils of Terr, fracturing their world into five realms. Many fled beyond the Veil of War, but not all who remained did so with benevolent intentions. Shivaria is an elite assassin of the crown, forged for a single purpose: to end the life of the Feyn King. Upon foreign shores, she discovers a land steeped in power, forgotten truths, and whispered legends that defy everything she was taught. When she finds herself bound to the king's general, sought by the fea in the northern woods, and uncovering the hidden truths of her world, she is thrust into a choice that will define her: follow the path she has always known, or endure a breaking that will set her on a course destined by the Fates.

Child of Shivay Reviews

“I wanted to rate this higher because I loved the characters and plot, but the pacing was so slow that I struggled to keep reading.”
“Purchased this at a book event with the author signing it so could not wait to get stuck in, whist I understand it to be a 5 book series in the making it was very slow paced, until the last 10 pages of the book which seemed to move so fast it was a little confusing, nether the less I can’t wait for the next book!”
“This book took me forever to read but I don't feel like it was the book's fault, nor do I think it hindered my opinion of the book itself. This was a slow dense start and then it steadily picked up the pace. I was a little frustrated with the characters and the lack of discussion about their gifts, the talk of lack of trust, but then the sharing of other details. The very end left me confused but still excited to see where the story was going, and I am still curious, but I read the extra chapter from Xeyvian's POV and started to read the blurb for the next book, and I became mad, confused, and disconnected. I feel like I'm missing some things here. I will still read the next book with a lot of hope for some answers.”
