“Holy cow this book is amazing. So brutal and beautiful and heartbreaking. In 2025, with politics as it currently is, this book feels like something that is coming. It feels like something I could see in my lifetime and that is devastating. The viewpoints of each character and how so many of them ultimately intertwine and reflect on each other was so well done. I loved this read.”

NANA KWAME ADJEI-BRENYAH is the New York Times-bestselling author of Friday Black. His work has appeared in The New York Times Book Review, Esquire, The Paris Review, and elsewhere.
