An Instant Classic and One of the Great Love Stories of Our Time

Andre Aciman's Call Me by Your Name is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents’ cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. Each is unprepared for the consequences of their attraction, when, during the restless summer weeks, unrelenting currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion and test the charged ground between them. Recklessly, the two verge toward the one thing both fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy. It is an instant classic and one of the great love stories of our time.

Anxious Face with sweat“I picked this book up after I watched the movie actually. The movie was beautifully made and the actors did an amazing job portraying the story, so I decided I wanted to read the book. Wow! The book starts off introducing the characters and then throughout we see them build a magical story where two seemingly straight men, fall in love. Of course the story is complex and at some points uncomfortable. I enjoyed the detail the author gave and the feelings it made me feel. The ending was heartbreaking, but it wasn't predictable at all. I will say be weary that their love is age gapped. There's also descriptive sexual parts, so if things like that bother you, skip out. This is more of an adult novel then YA.”

Slightly Smiling Face“This is a gorgeously written book. It’s the fastest I’ve ever read a novel as an adult—I finished it in a week, except for the last 20 pages. The ending was slow for me, compared to the rest of the book. But it is full of vivid descriptions of Elio’s mind and the Italian countryside around him. The themes of romanticization and curiosity are especially strong.”

Especially the Peach scene was were I decided not to read further and just skip through. Yes I‘ts good written but I could not relate to any of the characters or find a liking to them.”
