There are narratives within that speak to relationships, motherhood, the stigma of not wanting to be a mother, loss, fat shaming, wedding culture, aging, and more. It is impossible to authentically explore women's experiences without talking about abuse, the unrealistic social expectations, bullying, conditioning, and double standards. However, there is resilience and empowerment here as well. Perhaps there cannot be one without the other.

MM Schreier is a classically trained vocalist who took up writing as therapy for a mid-life crisis.
Whether contemporary or speculative fiction, favorite stories are dark and rich in sensory details. Weird twists abound—fiction with just enough truth thrown in to make folks question. Or perhaps that's non-fiction that's somehow gotten twisted up in imagination.
A firm believer that people are not always exclusively right- or left-brained, in addition to creative pursuits, Schreier is on the Leadership Team for a robotics company and tutors maths and science to at-risk youth. After years of living in the Great White North, Schreier and a very spoiled Labrador Retriever have inched a bit south to become beach bums at Chilly by the Sea.
