Brighid’s Quest by P. C. Cast digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Strong and beautiful centaur Huntress Brighid struggled for years under her family’s restrictive ideals and the oppressive, tyrannical rule of her mother, the clan’s High Shaman. Choosing to blaze her own path in life instead of follow her kinfolk, Brighid leaves the Centaur Plains and finds a new home and a loving family among the walls of MacCallan Castle.

But as Brighid sets out on a journey to guide the grief-stricken warrior Cuchulainn back home from the Wastelands, she realizes her former life isn’t so easily left behind. As the magic within her stirs and the call of the Otherworld urges her to heal the handsome warrior, Brighid must learn to accept the powerful gifts that the great Goddess Epona has given her—and the forbidden love that begins to grow for Cuchulainn.

Brighid’s Quest Reviews

Anxious Face with sweat“In terms of character development , suspense , having a goal that’s attainable but requires dedication and commitment , and facing your fears , this was the best book in this entire series . I still don’t understand what this author’s fascination is with graphic sex and rape . Anytime those scenes show up , I try my best to just skim through it because what purpose is it truly serving ? Like you can have it in there for context , but why does it have to be so freaking graphic ?”
“Nope. Nope nope. It’s so maddening when you start a series so strongly and then each book just gets worse and worse. I loved Partholon the first time I visited it. But every book in this series just devolves into a more twisted and unbelievable farce. The relationship between Brighid and Cuchulainn felt so forced and also felt like it completely spat in the face of his love for Brenna in Elphame’s choice. Like Brenna was his soul mate but just kidding it’s actually Brighid. Ugh. I will say the one saving grace in this book was the New Fomorians and particularly Brighid’s relationship with Liam. Overall this book could have been 250 pages shorter and actually fleshed out instead of having the last 15 pages be the whole plot shoved into one chapter. Also hilarious that it ends on a cliff hanger and Cast never got around to writing whatever came next”
“I loved this series. If you like action and mythical creatures. You will love this series.”
