“I wasn’t wowed by book 1, but I thought book 2 would fix that. I was wrong. As with the first book, this didn’t make me feel any true emotions. The little sidekick animals carried the book, to be honest. They were the only characters really worth much.
Alexis trained but made no progress. And yes miraculously she was a warrior when she needed to be. The whole academy from the first book was barely even mentioned again. The Medusa plot felt pretty weak. The crazy titans were never resolved, or really even looked into. The romance fell flat, as did the very few spicy scenes. For a “why choose” where the men were referred to as partners in the beginning, that was sad. The bad boys tried to be good for their wife, but there really wasn’t much character development all around. The miscommunication trope is my least favorite and I felt like a lot of the issues with the throuple could have been resolved with just a few conversations.
Overall, not impressed or anywhere close to being a favorite. Give nyx her own series.”
