By Charles PetersPublisher Description
A heartfelt story of how a nine year old boy had his life turned upside down when his mother died. This is a very well written book that takes the reader back in time to the northwest Iowa area of the 1940s. This is a time period that reflects how life was before cell phones, TVs, and computers. The author does a nice job of creating a narrators voice that is true to young Billy. As you read the book, it feels very much like you are sitting beside young Billy. You will image yourself listening directly to him tell his story. Reading this book will draw you in by the interesting stories. Finish one chapter and be anxious to read the next chapter.

About Charles Peters
Charles Peters was born near Hartley, Iowa. His young childhood was filled with colorful events. Some actions and events he had no control over, they just happened. He spent a short period of time at an orphanage before being adopted by foster parents when he was 11 years old. He grew up in northwest Iowa graduating from the Lytton Consolidated School. After a career of working, first in the dairy industry then working for a major hydraulic manufacturer he retired in 1998 and currently lives with his wife of over fifty two plus years in Spencer, Iowa.
Living in a scenic nature area for the past 30 years has enabled him to enjoy nature’s beauty and wild life. In his back yard, he has seen wild animals such as deer, raccoon, fox, and coyote and wild birds such as turkeys, ducks, geese, and a barn owl. The works of nature can be thrilling and soothing at the same time. He has been influenced by nature’s beauty for years.
Most days you will find him at home working on his next book.
