“I’m actually quite happy she ended up with Leo, I always liked him better than Caspan.”
“There were many times though out reading this duology that I stopped to rant to my husband about issues I had with these books. My most common complaint being that it seemed like the author would forget what happened in previous conversations between characters and they would have the same revelations over and over again. I also was frequently extremely frustrated with how much miscommunication and over all lack of communication fueled the story. I think it is also worth mentioning n that this book seems to heavily lean into the idea that love is a feeling and not a choice which goes against my personal philosophy about love but that’s not exactly uncommon in romance books.
However, the author definitely did something right because I was completely and entirely absorbed in these books. I read them non stop over a few days. Genuinely addictive. More than that, the ending of this book absolutely destroyed me. I haven’t cried like that at the end of a book in a very long time. I was a mess and my husband came to check on me because I was crying so hard. I respect the author for committing to the end of this book as she did. It hit hard and significantly impacted me in a way I did not expect from such gratuitously smutty book. I have to praise the author for that, even if we ultimately have differing opinions about Caspen 😉”
