Before I Wake
ByPublisher Description
New York Times–Bestselling Author: Some kids in high school are totally fake—but Kaylee is actually faking being alive . . .
I died on a Thursday—killed by a monster intent on stealing my soul.
The good news? He didn’t get it.
The bad news? Turns out not even death will get you out of high school . . .
Covering up her own murder was one thing, but faking life is much harder than Kaylee Cavanaugh expected. After weeks spent “recovering,” she’s back in school, fighting to stay visible to the human world, struggling to fit in with her friends, and planning time alone with her new reaper boyfriend.
But to earn her keep in the human world, Kaylee must reclaim stolen souls, and when her first assignment brings her face-to-face with an old foe, she knows the game has changed. Her immortal status won’t keep her safe. And this time Kaylee isn’t just gambling with her own life . . .
Praise for the series

“This is my favourite book in the whole series (I’ve said that about most of them so far but I mean it this time).
Watching Tod and Kaylee’s relationship develop is heart warming. Tod is by far my favourite character - he is so well developed, with such a distinct personality and he doesn’t shy away from his darker side or his flaws like the other characters do. He knows he makes mistakes but he proves countless times he would never make a mistake with Kaylee. He loves her more than anything and that just warms my heart to no end.
Another part of this book I enjoyed was learning about Kaylee’s new job at the reclamation department and getting to see the consequences of that.
I just love this book. It’s full of emotion, friendship and love. There may be a little bit of death along the way but the relationships between the characters really makes up fr that.”
