Bedfellow

By Jeremy C. Shipp
Bedfellow by Jeremy C. Shipp digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

First it first broke into the house. But somehow the thing would insinuate itself into the Lund family household. At first, the Lunds were bemused. Vaguely human-shaped, its constantly-changing cravings seemed disturbing, but time has a way of normalizing the extreme. Wasn't it always there, part of their lives? As the family make more and greater sacrifices in service to the beast, the thrall that binds them begins to break down. Choices must be made. Prices must be paid. And the Lunds must pit their wits against a creature determined to never let them go.

“well this was a weird trip! 1. i looooove unreliable narrators not a single reliable narrator in this book it was done really well the whole thing felt like a hallucination 2. the family was genuinely nice they do remind me of the family from hill house especially the kids and i felt bad for them (except the piece of shit husband) 3. it didn't really end the way i expected it to? i thought all that build up would lead to something else but it's still very creepy (like in the way IT is creepy there's an element of silliness there)”
“The writing style was okay, I enjoyed the different points of views throughout the story, but I thought it was gonna be a lot creepier. It was also kind of confusing in the beginning. The end did kind of solve all the confusion, but at that point it didn’t really need to be said. Not great as far as a horror book would go but an entertaining enough concept that I was able to finish it. I’m very glad it wasn’t much longer though.”
