“2.5 Stars | I want to preface that I have loved this movie for years. It’s such classic romantasy and I was so excited to delve more into its world. It had been a minute seen I’ve seen the movie, maybe a year and a half. But this movie is one that I’ve probably seen over 20 times. Getting into this book was such a struggle, and probably for 80%, I skimmed each paragraph or was not attentively reading. I made myself read this book, probably 18% in, I wanted to DNF so bad. The writing was so unoriginal and expansive that there were so many filler details. A lot of what was included was not needed and I feel that if there were less words, this would have been a more pleasant read. The characters were okay, but the way Ethan and Lena were portrayed was so surface level, it was hard to create an attachment. The only reason I stayed with this book was because I loved the characters from watching the movie. I am so confused on if I want to continue this series. It has been one I’ve wanted to start for the longest, but I was so disappointed in what I read.”

“This was a reread from my high school days and it was so good! I’m not sure why I never finished the series, but I have the next two so I might continue the series finally! I know for sure there’s a movie night in my near future though lol 😂”
