Publisher Description

THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET SERIOUS FOR HARRY DRESDEN, CHICAGO’S ONLY PROFESSIONAL WIZARD, in the next entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling Dresden Files.

Harry has faced terrible odds before. He has a long history of fighting enemies above his weight class. The Red Court of vampires. The fallen angels of the Order of the Blackened Denarius. The Outsiders.

But this time it’s different. A being more powerful and dangerous on an order of magnitude beyond what the world has seen in a millennium is coming. And she’s bringing an army. The Last Titan has declared war on the city of Chicago, and has come to subjugate humanity, obliterating any who stand in her way.

Harry’s mission is simple but impossible: Save the city by killing a Titan. And the attempt will change Harry’s life, Chicago, and the mortal world forever.

Thinking Face“I loved the Dresden Files but that love has been waning the bigger in scope the books have become. The series was at its best in the first few books where Harry was a small time Wizard PI helping the police with the odd supernatural case. Now it feels like torture porn. let's see how much more misery we can throw at our hero. if you were hoping this was the book where he caught a little break... yeah, forget it. At this point it feels like Jim Butcher has written himself into a cul-de-sac and just needs to 3 point turn outta there. Sadly this book just falls into every predictable trope there is. whatever you think is going to happen happens. No spoilers here because they're not necessary. It's all so obviously foreshadowed. what this book really needed though was an editor. Its far too long. there's only so much description of battling and fighting the human mind can take and this book exceeds it my some margin. so, why did I finish it? 'Cus there's still some magic left in these characters. I've spent enough time with them over the years that I just can't let them go now. I just hope the next books shrink the scale. Give us some thing more intimate. And, Stars and Stones, give Harry a break!”
