“This was an enjoyable read that was inspired by some lesser known historical figures. I like how it highlighted the story of women in post WWII when they were pulled out of war time roles. The author also pulled in the story of the transition of wounded soldiers acclimating back into society and their untreated PTSD. The element of espionage and romance was the main focus of the story. I did struggle with the ending a bit. It was a quick wrap up that left me wanting to know more of what the future would be like for the main characters Otherwise I enjoyed it!”

Jennie Fields received an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and is the author of the novels Lily Beach, Crossing Brooklyn Ferry,The Middle Ages, and The Age of Desire. A Chicago native, Fields was inspired by her own mother's work as a University of Chicago-trained biochemist in the 1950s. Fields now lives with her husband in Nashville, Tennessee.
