“The main protagonists of this book are Mina, Krish and Damon. Each are from a different background.
Yet, fate intertwined their lives and each became indisposable to one another.
How did this happen ?
How did a girl from the slum end up in a beautiful mansion in London ?
How did a bollywood superstar fall in love with her ?
The book is a emotional journey. Especially me being a woman, I could connect with the pain the protagonist has gone through.
It's a wonderful book with depth and a great amount of research done. Hoping to check out the authors other works too.”
“"No matter where you're from, your dreams are valid." —Lupita Nyong'o.
Dreams give us the strength to go the extra mile and achieve what we thought was impossible. This is a very sweet, encouraging, and emotional story of a girl who belonged to the slums of Mumbai but never stopped dreaming.
The author's writing is very clear, crisp, and lucid. I really liked the words picked up by the author to describe every person and scenario.
The story starts with hope and shows how dreams are shattered too. The storyline is very engaging. I really liked the cover and the title of the book. It truly depicted how beautiful gardens of roses can turn into ashes in seconds if burned down.
I would recommend this book to all as it depicts reality and not some fake scenarios. Kudos to the author for giving it a thought and writing such a great book.”
“"Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none"
Mina, a beautiful Mumbai girl with mesmerizing eyes was an art lover. She had a dream of becoming successful artist but her family's financial situation made her give up on her dream to help them. She thought of doing job by which she can save some money for art school and support her family but one incident which changed her life and made her live life like a puppet. She was living life like a princess but that life was burden. What happened with her that changed her life?? Will she never able to live freely like she wants?? Will she able to find her true love??Read book to know.
The narration which goes back and forth talks about Mina's present life and past life. The story has nicely managed to show the real life of people living in dhobi ghaat of Mumbai, their struggle to meet ends with compulsion to earn money. I liked how the way story unfolds about the past incidents of Mina's life which made her life a bad dream.
Mina who was main protagonist was kind, caring and a girl who always kept her family first. Three important lessons from this book were Money can't force anyone to love you, Don't treat anyone in a way that makes them feel trapped and we must rise from the ashes and live to see another day.
I wish to have a better close ending.
It was nice and simple story.”
