Why read on Fable?
Publisher Description
Senlin continues his ascent up the tower in the word-of-mouth phenomenon fantasy series about one man's dangerous journey through a labyrinthine world.
"One of my favorite books of all time" -- Mark Lawrence on Senlin Ascends
The Tower of Babel is proving to be as difficult to reenter as it was to break out of. Forced into a life of piracy, Senlin and his eclectic crew are struggling to survive aboard their stolen airship as the hunt to rescue Senlin's lost wife continues.
Hopeless and desolate, they turn to a legend of the Tower, the mysterious Sphinx. But help from the Sphinx never comes cheaply, and as Senlin knows, debts aren't always what they seem in the Tower of Babel.
Time is running out, and now Senlin must choose between his friends, his freedom, and his wife.
Does anyone truly escape the Tower?

“Loved this return to the Tower of Babel! The decision to open up perspectives in the story was a welcome one - Senlin comes to broaden his own perspective and find real companionship & found family just as we do, all the while confronting his failings (including, with welcome, some of the weirder stuff about his relationship with Marya).
My main complaint is when the book breaks from this new format and for a short while Senlin has his own solo section. I felt like it ended up feeling too rushed, while the segments without him felt too long… I think it would have done better to have interspersed Senlin’s parts through the others during this part of the book.
Also - what a way to end a book! Really has me ready for the next instalment!”

“Where the first book was a trippy fever dream full of peril and a race against time through the tower this second edition was more of a dark jaunty Pirate adventure that further expands on the politics of the Tower and the rot and turmoil festering within. With a new found sort of freedom we are able to see the characters expand in wonderful ways. Senlin continues a slow decent into his development, which is a shame because his is the most constant POV. I do enjoy how flawed but resilient they remain. For someone commonly described as a "Scarecrow" and has a self imposed sense of superiority due to his morality, Senlin has a very disheartening habit of boiling down every female he encounters to their physical traits. I am hoping this is another flaw he notices about himself and sheds on his journey but, I won't hold my breath. This book has ended on a precipice and I am excited to see what happens in the next installation.”
