“I love Annabeth Albert but this book, OMG it was so sweet. I really loved the pacing of this story, development and characters. I appreciated that the side characters served a purpose and were full people who rounded out the story. Ruben's relationship with Amelia and the development and repair of their relationship meant so much. It wasn't just off to the side, it was an important part of everything that was happening. It was incredibly low angst which I needed since I'm also reading an emotionally heavy book at the same time.”Desislava Uzunova

“This was a good read. I liked it. I think what I liked the most is the maturity of both MC's. This was an age-gap romance with one MC being close to 50 and the other low 30s. I love it when MC's are mature and can talk through things. There really was no back and forth with skating around each other. Once the MC's decided they wanted more, they went for it. Then when it seemed like all was lost there was a tiny uncoupling, but it was resolved super fast with communication and realizations on both sides. I think I like the side characters more than the MC's or at least as much as. I loved both Amelia and Nell and thought they added a lot of depth to the story. Also, even with this being on the longer side, it did not feel drug out at all. Honestly, there was not anything amazing about this story, it was just good. I liked it, hence the rating. The audio done by Iggy Toma was really good. I would recommend this for sure, just not a favorite, and I doubt I will be thinking about these characters. It did make me want to read River and Garrett's story though, so I may come back to that.
