Anthem

By Ayn Rand
Anthem by Ayn Rand digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Anthem is a dystopian science fiction novella by Ayn Rand. Mankind has entered a new dark age as a result of the evils of irrationality and collectivism and the weaknesses of socialistic thinking and economics. Individuality and ambition have become sins. Technological advancement is now carefully planned (when it is allowed to occur at all). Here is the story of one man willing to risk everything to rebel against a society that refuses to believe in the power or rights of the individual.

“I actually quite enjoyed this novel. Its about little rebellions. Where everyone in the society is set and assigned what they do with there lives, we follow a man who wants more then what he is given. He seeks out relationships that are prohibited, and finds a little bunker to call his own from the old world. It’s a very interesting piece of literature that I was surprised by, it’s the first work from Ayn Rand that I have read and I’m impressed.”
“What a unique novella! I was captivated from the first page through to the end. This dystopian story displays complex human emotions mingled with a twisted world which has forgotten individuality in such an interesting way. I am reminded of stories like Vonnegut’s “Harrison Bergeron.””
