Anna and the French Kiss Reviews

3.5
“This is one of the first ya books I ever read, and it’s one that holds a special place in my heart. Anna and Étienne are characters that I love, even when I don’t like them. They have flaws, and they are realistic! I remember being a teenager and thinking everything that was going on in my life, all the drama of high school friendships and college decisions, was this huge deal and like it would feel huge and looming for the rest of my life. Great news for those who are wondering: yes, it does get better, and yes, you will look back on your teenage self with some embarrassment (and hopefully a lot of love). Anna was a bad friend at times, and so was every single other character in this book, which made it feel real. This was one of Stephanie Perkins’s first books, and I do think you can tell, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy this book. I know this is getting rambley, so tldr; this book is great for a light read with a satisfying ending, though the relationships can feel a little juvenile or over the top at times. I do recommend this to anyone looking for a cute story with minimal true conflict and a HEA ;)”
