“picked this up at my work's book swap purely based on the cover + title, and was very surprised by how cool it was.
i struggled with the poetry and references to religious academia but not in a way that wasn't enjoyable, it actually did scratch the itch that i have to find challenges in things i read. i simultaneously love and hate to feel stupid and like i'm missing something and that was what that felt like.
really looking forward to when i can next get my hands on some of Byatt's other work!”

About A. S. Byatt
A. S. Byatt is the author of numerous novels, including The Children’s Book, The Biographer’s Tale, and Possession, which was awarded the Booker Prize. She has also written two novellas, published together as Angels & Insects, five collections of short stories, and several works of nonfiction. Byatt is a distinguished critic and author, and the recipient of the 2016 Erasmus Prize for her “inspiring contribution to ‘life writing.’” She lives in London.
