“Steampunk, World War II, Modern Mafia with a blind dog and secret cults?
Once more, I have read a Nick Harkaway.
It was NOT the Gone-Away-World which changed my life and, in fact. It was not life changing.
It was, however: very entertaining and full of endearing characters and the type of anachronisms, romance, humor, and social commentary I rely on when reading books of this author. It's very complex, and long for a thin looking book. In typical fashion, the prose of full of complex compound sentences and thoughts which somehow cram more book into this book.
What a delight. More please!”
“It's hard to find the words to explain how I felt about this one. It captured my intrigue right away. The author wrote with such inspiration, back stories were lush, meaningful and relevant. I loved it a lot but at times it was hard to follow because the author is so witty and uses highly intellectual language.”
