“An incredibly revealing and detailed account of the conditions and mentalities that led to the American Civil War. It was especially interesting to see the humanization of one of history’s most iconic characters, and to explore the conflicts that defined his time in office, both internal and external. It’s almost heartbreaking to see how many similarities there exist between the racist and bigoted mentalities of late 19th century America and present-day society.”Marci Williams
