“After spending time reading Shirley Jackson’s short stories, which i wish to savor, i found myself feeling like this book was somewhat underdeveloped. maybe i’m the wrong audience. maybe it just isn’t my taste but the stories rarely felt like a contained vignette, a little world that draws you in. usually, i’m sad when a short story ends, but i found myself relieved.”
