“I love Ramsey Campbell. His books kinda tip toe up behind me and I don't see the horror coming. I'm also a very visual reader so that helps the chilling parts to actually have the ability to unnerve me. Horror just isn't scary unless you can see the description of the scary building in your mind with every word. The reason this was only 4 stars instead of the 5 I really wanted to give it was because there was a particularly important plot point that didn't make sense that I won't share here because I try not to include spoilers in my reviews. Despite the fact that this one thing didn't jive for me, it was a solid ass book that touched on a topic I love reading about in horror novels. Well done, Mr Campbell. I do so enjoy your work.”
