“A book passionate for cinema that grows into a slow burn folk horror. My first Campbell, and the references to the Blackie and Mossley Hill filled me with warmth. Scouse that.”
“Slow burn, atmospheric, cosmic, folk thriller. Memorable English characters keep it interesting as the protagonist Sandy seeks out a haunted/cursed lost film. While the cursed film leads to an eccentric Lord and his lands that seemingly hold power if fed , we're left wondering what lies beyond or beneath. I'm not sure I understand the root of the curse and the strange happenings, but it all kinda flows and works in a dream logic sort of way.”
