Fairytale endings don’t just happen; they have to be fought for

New York City social worker Camilo Santiago Briggs grew up surrounded by survivors who taught him to never rely on anything you didn’t earn yourself. He’s always dreamt of his own happily ever after, but he lives in the real world. Men who seem too good to be true…usually are. And Milo never ever mixes business with pleasure...until the mysterious man he had an unforgettable hookup with turns out to be the wealthy donor behind his agency’s new, next-level funding.

Thomas Hughes built a billion dollar business from nothing: he knows what he wants and isn’t shy about going after it. When the enthralling stranger who blew his mind at a black-tie gala reappears, Tom’s more than ready to be his Prince Charming. Showering Milo with the very best of everything is how Tom shows his affection.

Trouble is, Milo’s not interested in any of it. The only thing Milo wants is Tom.

Fairytale endings take work as well as love. For Milo, that means learning to let someone take care of him, for a change. And for Tom, it’s figuring out that real love is the one thing you can’t buy.

Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes“I absolutely adore this series. Adriana Herrera manages to make a book both spicy fun time and so sweet I’m kicking my feet into the air. Cannot wait to keep reading more of her backlist!”
“4.5 Stars I just adore the cultural elements of these stories. There's such a flavor of the Caribbean Islands in the cultural of all these guys. The little pieces of Spanish that flow through the story really bring about the energy and vibrancy of those areas of New York City. It's not a world or culture I have much familiarity with, but it just radiates off the page. I really liked Milo and Thomas. Both guys are immigrants or the child of an immigrant. Their backgrounds maybe different, but they have carved out a place for themselves in their new country without losing the heritage of their culture. I loved the history of how Milo's mom immigrated from Cuba and Thomas being the son of an American GI and his love affair with the Dominican after serving there was such an interesting backstory. He has such a different sort of privilege from most people with his background because he can pass as white, no matter that he grew up in Dominican for most of his life. The relationship between these two guys was very sweet for the most part. I appreciated how they respected the working relationship (since they had such a random original introduction to each other ;)) and didn't disregard how Thomas being the benefactor of the projects Milo was overseeing in his capacity as the director put Thomas as Milo's boss. Milo's very aware of propriety and the appearance of things within his capacity as a social worker. They didn't disregard the appearance of things but appreciated how they were feelings and were willing to work towards things anyway. Of course they had a number of bumps in the road, but really they have a lovely relationship. This looses a little bit for me in how long Milo held onto his I understood how Milo felt, but I felt like his reactions were a little overblown. Still it was only a minor issue really. All in all this is another lovely story in this series. I love the friendship these childhood friends have and can't wait to read more of the series.
