Hart can’t let go of Ruby either…. Due to some divine intervention, he’s offered a second chance. Only it won’t be as simple as bringing him back to life—instead, Hart’s soul is transferred to the body of local bad boy.
When Hart returns to town as Jameson, he realizes that winning Ruby back will be more challenging than he’d imagined. For one, he’s forbidden from telling Ruby the truth. And with each day he spends as Jameson, memories of his life as Hart begin to fade away.
Though Ruby still mourns Hart, she can’t deny that something is drawing her to Jameson. As much as she doesn’t understand the sudden pull, it can’t be ignored. And why does he remind her so much of Hart? Desperate to see if the connection she feels is real, Ruby begins to open her heart to Jameson—but will their love be enough to bridge the distance between them?

“Read this back in 2018 and I was rereading it just to see what happened cause I forgot about it and I recently discovered it. It’s actually a pretty decent book. It made me feel sad, especially at the beginning the beginning was pretty emotional.
The characters are pretty lovable, especially the ML he’s a very loving and devoted MMC and it was a pleasure to read about him doing all he could to care for the FMC. The FMC on the other hand was more bland/boring as a character. She wasn’t terrible, but then I didn’t love her either. We also had this angel called Lourdes. Honestly, it was kind of hard to like her given that she was actually destroying MMC’s memories, but it is what it is I guess, and then we have this menagerie of side of the characters that for the most part, we’re just plot devices so I couldn’t really connect to any of them.
The plot was decent, nothing earth shattering though. It was pretty simple and there’s nothing wrong with that. We follow MMC‘s journey to get back his life but then it kind of transforms into just making sure the FMC is happy and honestly, I was fine with that.
Overall, it was a good book. I’d recommend this for younger audiences now that I’m older and I have your books. It kind of falls a little bit flat but it’s still a pretty decent book.”
“As this book is a gift I got for Christmas, I had to FORCE myself to finish the book. The thing is, it got really boring in the middle however, it was not enough to DNF as I still wants to know how it ended.
I personally am not a fan of obsessive love, especially that they are teenagers and not even in college. The book was so drawn in the main character's love story, SO MUCH that there's no character growth for them individually.
SPOILER ⚠️
As soon as he wakes up in a different body I was hoping to read more about his family, more about his friendship with George, and his life in general BUT it was ALWAYS about Ruby and that, I think, was kind of lame.
Also, I felt really sad about Jameson. Well, personally, I think Jameson deserves the second chance more than any character in the book.”
“this book was beautiful so surprised i didn’t cry. i love how it was written & the story unfolded…. it showed me having love, true love in this lifetime is a gift even if you’ve lost it be grateful you’ve had it.”
