“This was a slow burn, dark fantasy with magic, creatures, murder, incest, and intrigue. I absolutely loved Miren and I loved hearing all her old tales she grew up learning. The stories of the mer and the sea queen and the deal her family, the O'Malley's, made in order to prosper was intriguing and I was so fascinated to see where this story was headed. Miren was a strong female lead who set out to make her own life choices and I couldn't help but to root for her.
I listened to the audiobook as well as read along with the Kindle edition. I loved the reader of the audiobook and hearing all of the traditional Irish names pronounced far better than I could have. It was so lovely! Definitely not a light hearted tale, but one that I couldn't get enough of! I look forward to continuing on with this series/world.”
