Author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English writer of children's fiction, notably Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass. He was born January 27, 1832, in Daresbury, United Kingdom, and died January 14, 1898, in Guildford, England.
Illustrator Sir John Tenniel was an English illustrator, graphic humorist, and political cartoonist prominent in the second half of the nineteenth century. He was born February 28, 1820 in London, England, and died February 25, 1914 in London England.
Henry Holiday (June 17, 1839 – April 15, 1927) was a British historical genre and landscape painter, stained-glass designer, illustrator, and sculptor. He is part of the Pre-Raphaelite school of art.
