“I think this was my favorite of the three. The journey they took in this book had me locked in, it was so interesting and different than anything I've read. I really enjoyed it.
I also adore Sunny's growth through this series 🩷

“Absolutely captivated once again by the magic and myths of Nigeria. As a kid, mythology was definitely my thing, but considering the time and place I was growing up, my access to anything more than classical greco-roman myths was nonexistent! I would have eaten these books with a spoon back then. Lol
That said - I thought this was a great ending to the story while also making it clear that it was also just the start of Sunny's adventures. Thankfully, I didn't spend the bulk of this book distracted by ChiChi and Sasha. (Small favors!)
My complaint this time? Sunny's father. And I understand the reality of that family dynamic, but even the explanation for his rage/disappointment/whatever didn't do it for me. It felt apologistic, and no child should ever be made to feel the way he makes Sunny feel. That just rubbed me wrong....”Avis

Nnedi Okorafor is an international award-winning novelist of science fiction and fantasy for children and adults.
