“After Dark with Roxie Clark is a fast, wickedly entertaining YA thriller about two cursed siblings chasing the truth behind their sister’s boyfriend’s brutal murder. From page one I was hooked by the mystery and the sense that danger lurked around every corner. I wished for a bit more depth on Roxie’s tour and the Clark Curse, but what we get is still satisfyingly eerie. Roxie is a top notch heroine with a sharp, funny voice and a chemistry with the cast that feels true to sisterhood, especially with Skylar, whose icy, obsessive streak makes sense given her grief. The siblings Tristan and Colin add another layer of messy, imperfect bond that rings true. Skylar can be grating at times, yet it fits the grief-driven fixation. A few phrases repeat themselves mid book, but the pace never stalls, and the ending lands with a brisk, satisfying punch. Overall, a fun, dark ride, perfect for an autumn read.”
