ByPublisher Description
Book 1 in the New York Times bestselling trilogy, perfect for fans of Battlestar Gallactica and Passengers!
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO SURVIVE ABOARD A SPACESHIP FUELED BY LIES?
Amy is a cryogenically frozen passenger aboard the spaceship Godspeed. She has left her boyfriend, friends--and planet--behind to join her parents as a member of Project Ark Ship. Amy and her parents believe they will wake on a new planet, Centauri-Earth, three hundred years in the future. But fifty years before Godspeed's scheduled landing, cryo chamber 42 is mysteriously unplugged, and Amy is violently woken from her frozen slumber.
Someone tried to murder her.
Now, Amy is caught inside an enclosed world where nothing makes sense. Godspeed's 2,312 passengers have forfeited all control to Eldest, a tyrannical and frightening leader. And Elder, Eldest's rebellious teenage heir, is both fascinated with Amy and eager to discover whether he has what it takes to lead.
Amy desperately wants to trust Elder. But should she put her faith in a boy who has never seen life outside the ship's cold metal walls? All Amy knows is that she and Elder must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets before whoever woke her tries to kill again.

“The plot of this book was good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. HOWEVER… I have a lot to say 😂…
First and foremost, the word “frex” to replace the f word in this book was said 42 times and it gave me the ick so bad I couldn’t stand it…
the word Brilly was used many times and made zero sense because it was used it multiple different contexts none of which were really the same.
The word “chutz” was used to describe ones gentile areas… again. This is so cringy. We might as well use curse words instead of making these characters feel like children scared of cursing.
Another thing, the characters might as well not have names… Eldest, Elder, and Doc? That feels kind of lazy to me… and gets kind of confusing in the later chapters. We could’ve at least given them names instead of just naming them their titles.
ALSO there is a huge scene in this book about 50% of the way through that is a full on assault scene. Like, TRIGGER WARNING NEEDED and there was not one. At all. I had to put the book down for the night.
Lastly, there was a su!c!de scene towards the end of the book, and a lot of talk about it around the 75% mark that really could’ve used a TW as well. This book is older, so maybe the author thought it wasn’t needed? Still… just a heads up.
In all, the plot of the book itself was good, even if predictable at points, and I eventually will pick up the second one.”

“This book has so much going for it, but also so little that it truly made sense.
This book is the first in a trilogy, but I hope so much more gets explored in the world and the characters.
Elder for example learned so much about what was really happening on the ship and of himself that he should have time to understand that. But he will be in a position of power, so has no time to comprehend.
Amy, I feel like need to have time to understand her trauma. She was almost SA'd for Christ sake and will never see her parents again!! She has a right to be upset, but this book kinda makes her throw straight into investigating instead of actually being upset.
The romance in this book is the most fickle thing known to man. They are kissing one second, ignoring each other the next, cuddling then shouting and screaming.
Also I wanted to punch eldest the entire book”
