Thinking Face“for her first book, jennifer faulkner shows so much promise. i lovedddd her prose and how she describes so many different time periods and settings across each story, and how the characters can feel so clear and understood even from only a few pages. the theme of agency, control, and who has it or doesn’t was well explored throughout each story in so many ways. my only wish is that the overarching themes felt stronger while reading or that there were more to connect the stories in message. i connected the dots when i reflected after finishing the book, but i wish it was clearer during my reading process. i loved every story but there were definitely come standouts that left others paling a bit in comparison. overall i DEFINITELY will be looking for more from this author!”
