“Five Stars!!! I’m shocked as I don’t usually have much luck with short story bind-ups. This pleasant surprise has certainly encouraged me to try other short story collections in the future.
The first story, Yuletide Lawman - By: Renee Ryan takes place in 1879, Thunder Ridge Wyoming. Caleb only wants a marriage of convince but Ellie won’t marry for anything less than love.
- I gave it one 5 stars. This is the story that looked the most intriguing and was the reason I picked the book up in the first place. It was such a sweet holiday read. I loved the family dynamic that was set during the Christmas festive season. The characters were adorable and I loved the way Renee Ryan writes her romance. I will be checking out some of her other books for sure!
The second story, Yuletide Reunion- By: Louise M. Gouge, takes place in 1886, Riverton, New Mexico. Emma’s family is in need of help to repair their barn before Christmas. But when Jared shows up, Emma struggles accepting help from him since he jilted her two year ago.
- I gave this one 5 stars. I have to admit my expectations were low for this one, I find there is usually a hit and a miss when it comes to short story bind-ups. Since I enjoyed the fist story so much I didn’t think that the second would even come close in comparison. How wrong was I! I would even say that I ended up enjoying this one just as much, maybe more than the first. I have never read any books by Louise M. Gouge before so I wasn’t sure what to expect from it. But I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to discover her and her talent for writing. I adored this heartfelt storyline. The characters were just so incredibly written and I couldn’t be more in love with that ending.”
