A Touch of Malice

By Scarlett St. Clair
A Touch of Malice by Scarlett St. Clair digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

The next installment in the Hades and Persephone story from bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair. Discover the world of New Athens and the Greek gods in a series that readers are calling "hopelessly addictive."

"I am not sure who you think I am," she said. "But let me be clear—I am Persephone, future Queen of the Underworld, Lady of Your Fate—may you come to dread my presence."

Persephone and Hades are engaged. In retaliation, Demeter summons a snowstorm that cripples New Greece, and refuses to lift the blizzard unless her daughter calls off her engagement. When the Olympians intervene, Persephone finds her future in the hands of ancient gods, and they are divided. Do they allow Persephone to marry Hades and go to war with Demeter, or prohibit their union and take up arms against the God of the Dead?

Nothing is certain but the promise of war.

“Smut wasn’t as forced as the last book which allowed me to enjoy it a bit more but it was still pretty forced by the author similarly to the previous book. The storyline wasn’t as great as the last book. I feel like a lot of it was focused on Hades and Persephone’s possible wedding and getting that sorted rather than the issues that were happening within the world which was disappointing. It was a solid book but it wasn’t anything special and there wasn’t much that stood out. The ending felt very rushed particularly the last chapter and the moments between Persephone and her mother which was surprising as that was a larger part of the other books. It was a good read but it didn’t stand out at all. The content warnings for SA was definitely needed although I personally felt that while there was a warning for suicide there wasn’t much discussion of this within the book especially in comparison to the previous one which didn’t have any warning for that.”
“FINALLY Persephone has some growth!! This one was action packed! However, I must point out as I spice lover this was ridiculous, it’d be nice if they could have conversations to resolve issues rather than just having sex.”
