Anxious Face with sweat“The ending to the series was so good. The ending of this book was so satisfying and I definitely had emotional moments on this read. Love it.”
Red Angry Face“Well…THANK THE GODS that I’ve finished the series… Chaos is the right word for this final book because why was it so random all the time with no explanation or direction?! I will recap by saying I loved the first book, was bored through the second and yet somehow enjoyed the third. This final book however, was so confusing. I think even the author was confused and didn’t know how to end it! I think the issue is that the world building is really weak and unclear. The first book has Hades as a nightclub owner and Persephone a budding journalist. However, by this book it’s like it’s been forgotten that it’s a ‘modern take’ and they’re talking in more old fashioned phrasing, the humans are basically irrelevant and the Golden Fleece does most of the work. The amount of plot holes and questions we’re left with even at the end is crazy. I won’t go into it or it’ll spoil things. I know these books are known for their spice but I felt so much of it was unnecessary and dragged out and the book could’ve been 200 pages shorter without some of it. There were also several points where (even with the content warnings) I think elements were added for a dark shock factor and were not covered in a sympathetic way. I never like to discourage reading of books (especially when I know our interests are all different) but if you asked me if I recommended these books objectively I’d probably say no having read this final instalment. I tell my friends to indulge in the first book for a bit of fun and then abandon the series. Such a shame but this really was a disappointing way for the series to end and also it did NOT need to be almost 600 pages!! Have any of you read this series? What did you think of it?📖🏛️”
