Publisher Description

Wine and books pair with friends and lovers in a delicious, heartfelt romance featuring, from the acclaimed author of An Academic Affair.

Fiona Fisher thought she had it all: a loving husband, three kids, and a solid plan to get the PhD no one in her family thought her capable of. But when her husband reveals that he's leaving her for his secret second family, Fiona is devastated and completely humiliated.

Satoshi Tsukamoto wants it all. He’s the proprietor of a cult wine bar, and he’s studying for the hardest exam in the world: the Master Sommelier exam. There aren’t enough hours in the day for anything else – even Fiona, his favourite customer, and the woman he’s inconveniently in love with.

On paper, Fiona and Satoshi make no sense. He’s eight years younger than her and a consummate bachelor. She’s a single mother and doesn't know if she'll ever be able to trust anyone again. But how can Fiona resist when Satoshi proposes they give into their mutual attraction to let off some steam? And how is he supposed to resist when the woman he adores is finally within his grasp – even if they’ve agreed to keep things casual?

A Study in Sparkling Reviews

“Thank you Atria for the ARC of A Study in Sparkling I like this book just fine, but I didn't love it. The storyline had far more depth than I expected from the prologue / part 1, but I just couldn't warm to the characters. Fiona was by far the strongest character, but she treated Satoshi pretty badly and he kept coming back. He had decided before even knowing her story that he was in love with her, and it felt to me like he never really explored this once he actually got to know her. He was in love with her, and therefore he would be / do whatever she needed with no questions. Fiona's relationship with her brothers was lovely, and her strength in standing up to her husband and protecting her children was admirable, but something about the story as a whole didn't work for me.”
“Emotional, relevant, honest and heart wrenching. Fiona and Satoshi wow if this book could be turned into a movie I’ll be the first one in line. The representation of the LGBTQ community was very well written. This book was a short but impactful read. I could have read it in one sitting but mom life got me Fiona would completely understand 😉. This age gap single mom found family story almost had me crying. The wine knowledge was so good made me learn a thing or two. I can rave on and on about how refreshing this book was to me. The spice is tolerable so that’s amazing for me. This book was almost a 5 star read and I highly recommend reading it as it comes out soon.”
“I was so excited for this book however I feel a bit let down. Satoshi is such a gem but Fiona’s actions kept frustrating me beyond belief. Don’t get me wrong, I still flew through this book and had a great time but I just wish there was more a little depth to it.”
“A really nice book. Do give this a go. This is my first book in the series and let me tell you, I am not disappointed. It is indeed amazing.”
