“I picked this up for a lighter read after months of adult fantasy/fiction, but I forgot how cringey YA dialogue can be—it really pulled me out of the story and made it harder to connect with characters. Other than that, the book had clear potential. I appreciated the high stakes and the fast-paced plot, which kept things moving. Unfortunately, it started declining for me in the last half of Act 2 and I just couldn’t take it seriously anymore. I gave it a chance since It’s been sitting on my TBR for a while but I don’t plan to continue with the trilogy.”

“Loveddd 90% of the book sooo much, the ending just felt not good-tea. Maybe I'm judging political fantasy world building too hard, but this was just ... ouch. That's the tea. I can't read the rest of the series right now, but I hope to come back to it one day!”
