A Psalm for the Wild-Built

By Becky Chambers
A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Winner of the Hugo Award!

In A Psalm for the Wild-Built, bestselling Becky Chambers's delightful new Monk and Robot series, gives us hope for the future.

It's been centuries since the robots of Panga gained self-awareness and laid down their tools; centuries since they wandered, en masse, into the wilderness, never to be seen again; centuries since they faded into myth and urban legend.

One day, the life of a tea monk is upended by the arrival of a robot, there to honor the old promise of checking in. The robot cannot go back until the question of "what do people need?" is answered.

But the answer to that question depends on who you ask, and how.

They're going to need to ask it a lot.

Becky Chambers's new series asks: in a world where people have what they want, does having more matter?

At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

Slightly Smiling Face“"Because I know that no matter what, I am wonderful." We all have a lot to learn from this tea monk and robot's journey. What a beautiful, gentle read.”

Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes“I couldn't NOT pick up the second book immediately after reading the first. It was just that good! A Psalm for the Wild Built and A Prayer for the Crown Shy are absolutely stunning. They feel like a hug, and a good conversation, and a gut punch in turns. I laughed aloud. I smiled. I teared up. I felt so many things reading these books. My only regret is that I can't experience them again for the first time now that I've read them, but I will absolutely be carrying them with me. While dealing with what it means to be human and to have value, they are the most beautiful and relatable things I've read in a very long time, all delivered with humor, and thoughtfulness, and care. They're both short and easy to read, taking no more time than they need to to get where they're going, wasting nothing, and giving so much more back than they take (which feels fitting). I cannot recommend this series highly enough. It's fun, it's beautiful, it's deeply human, and it's queer as hell.”
