“First step into Star Wars canon books and this was such a strong start. This is the story of how Kanan and Hera met, but I didn’t expect to love the side characters as much as I did. Skelly and Zaluna have some stand out moments, and Count Vidian was a menacing and genius antagonist.”

“A solid Star Wars book with a great villain and interesting new characters. An interesting story with some twists and character developments. A great precursor story for the Star Wars Rebels animated TV show.
My one critique is that I wish we were given even more developed backstories for Kanan and Hera. Perhaps the author was limited by Lucasfilm with how much he could provide, but I was definitely left wanting a bit more for those two.”
