A Modern Utopia
ByPublisher Description
A Modern Utopia is a 1905 novel by H. G. Wells. Two travellers suddenly find themselves on a utopian Earth governed by a single global government after falling into a space warp. The World State, which is possibly Wells's greatest contribution to the intellectual history of the century, and one of the earliest significant statements of the modern welfare state may both be found in this work. Wells summarises and simplifies earlier utopias in this classic utopia, bringing them into dialogue with the reality of the present.
