“I read Neuvel's series "The Themis Files" awhile back and have been hoping for more of his works to read. When he came to the local comic con last year I was finally able to pick up the first in his "Take Them to the Stars" series.
In the story, Mia's family has been shaping history to ensure certain events happen to get people into space. There is another group who has been trying to thwart these plans for their own goals.
This is one of those books that very cleverly blends historical facts with fiction to make the story believable.
The time jumps were written so well and gave depth to the "current" plot and characters.
More than just a "further reading" section at the end which Neuvel listed other reads and articles to find out more about the people and events in the book.
Finally, having the chapter titles by famous songs from the time that the chapter was set was also very clever.
