She sold her soul to a siren and now he’s come to collect.
Victoria risks everything to leave a dangerous marriage and gain a second chance at life. But when her escape goes awry, she finds herself caught in the strong embrace of a mysterious siren, forced to choose: temporary salvation or immediate death.
And so, a cursed deal is struck.
Five years later, Victoria is alive—and the world’s finest ship captain. But her debt to the siren looms while her conniving ex has demanded a king’s ransom as the final price of her freedom. Victoria refuses to cause her family to suffer any more on her behalf, and is determined to make things right before her time is up. But that time is cut short.
The siren comes for her. Six months early.
Taken to the magical and deadly Eversea, home of the sirens, Victoria discovers she’s the sacrifice upon which all sirens pin their hopes. If they want to appease an angry god and save a world on the brink of destruction, then they need her. Which gives her the perfect leverage.
Victoria strikes a new bargain: the Siren Duke will help save her family, and she’ll fulfill his demands. It’s a good bargain until a flicker of passion ignites in the scarred remnants of Victoria's heart, threatening all she's worked for. As the sacrifice for the God of Death, she’s meant to give up everything that draws her to the world of the living. But that’s impossible when all she can think about is how this handsome siren’s song, and his hands, make her feel very much alive.
In a realm of ancient magic, submerged secrets, and forgotten gods, can love find a place among shattered hearts as they race against time and the blossoming of forbidden desires? Or will the delicate songs of their hearts be silenced once and for all?

“I wasn’t expecting this book to be this good!
"If someone loves you, truly loves you, it’s because they want to—because they can’t imagine a world in which they don’t. Because you make their soul sing just with your mere existence."
It has truly been the best one in the series so far. I loved Victoria, I loved Ilryth, I loved their relationship—and above all, I loved that ending.
The story begins when Victoria, our protagonist, escapes from an abusive and unhappy marriage. In the process, she falls from the ship she’s using to flee and nearly dies. That’s when Ilryth appears, offering to help her live in exchange for a life debt he will come to collect five years later. Of course, she accepts, and the following years are spent growing, freeing herself, and waiting for her siren—because yes, he is a siren duke.
First of all, I loved that they met long before the romance truly began. Some of my favorite relationships are the ones where the characters know each other for years, waiting for one another. And of course, he visited her whenever he could, bringing back little things as trophies and memories for her. The man was in love long before the five years even passed.
I think this is the most well-developed story in the entire saga. The fact that the villain was never truly a villain broke my heart—he was just trying to save his wife in the only way he knew how. And I loved that it was the love between the protagonists that ultimately gave them more time together.
Then, once everything was resolved, they were forced to separate and spent four years apart—four years in which they became practically gods. Four years separated, singing their songs, waiting... until they finally reunited, and it was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever read in the entire saga.
And finally, we discovered what happened to Katria’s father! A direct connection to the other characters, hinted at from the very beginning of the book, and only fully understood at the end.
I loved it. I already can’t wait to read the fifth book.”

“The story is good, and It made me want to read more about sirens. Very interesting.
However there are some repetitive chapters that don't make the narrative progress, and many characters don't evolve at all throughout the book.
This being said, I listened to it on Audible, and the dramatized version is BEAUTIFUL. It's so nice to hear the sirens' song, graphic audio did such a wonderful job, I can't imagine a more fitting result.
On top of that I'm pretty hyped bc It's a series!? And they all have their dramatized version by graphic audio?? Apparently there are 5 books in this series, and they're all stand-alones :D”
