“Apollo has Evangeline but she remembers nothing, he said Jacks is the reason he was gone and her memories are gone. Apollo was obsessed with finding Jacks and Evangeline wanted to know what happened to her memories. Jacks in the meantime isn’t trying to convince her of anything, he wants her happy and safe so he offered to secretly teach her how to fight - and he’s going by Archer. Evangeline meets the Vale’s, in particular the daughter Aurora. Apollo becomes more and more cruel in the name of Evangeline. Jacks saves Evangeline from an assassin and she slowly starts to remember things. The House Fortuna have all been slaughtered and Jacks knows Castor did it while Apollo is making people think Jacks did it. The paper releases a picture of Jacks so Evangeline now knows who Archer is - she goes to the Hunt to tell Apollo. But someone tries to kill her again and she runs into the Cursed Forest where Castor finds her and then Jacks before Castor can potentially hurt her. They get out of the forest and end up at an inn to get out of the rain. We also learn that Apollo is searching for the Tree of Souls - if someone drinks from the leaves they become immortal. At the inn, Evangeline found a letter she had written to herself that Jacks kept on her and then she remembered everything that happened and that Apollo did to her. When she awoke, she had a glass cuff on her wrist (a cuff of protection) and Jacks was gone with everyone else in the Inn murdered by a vampire. Evangeline pretends not to know anything when Apollo finds her and he believes her and takes her back to Merrywood. There Evangeline finds LaLa and she escapes and finds Jacks but he isn’t his normal self and tries to kill her and she’s saved by Castor. Aurora leads Apollo to the Tree of Souls where he is warned that if he drinks from it it will take the life of who he loves most in order for him to become immortal. Which Apollo doesn’t do. Castor tells Evangeline the truth, the glass cuff can’t be taken off - Jacks traded his heart for the cuff to Aurora so he could protect Evangeline forever but Aurora has always been in love with Jacks. Evangeline and LaLa went on the hunt for Jacks heart and they find Aurora who tells them that the curse on Jacks has been twisted in time. It’s not only his true love will survive his kiss - it’s only those who could never love him survive. Evangeline finds Jacks before he destroys his heart and kisses him and she doesn’t die. Apollo finds them and gets Evangeline and tries to take her to the Tree of Souls but Jacks finds them there. Apollo goes to drink from the tree but it takes him instead since he loves himself the most. And Jacks and Evangeline are free.”
