London, 1887. After burying her spinster aunt, orphaned Veronica Speedwell is free to resume her world travels in pursuit of scientific inquiry—and the occasional romantic dalliance. “5⭐️ Veronica Speedwell is HILARIOUS. She is nonchalant, purposely combative, and brilliant. I was fond of her since page one.
Mr. Stoker is a grumpus with a heart of platinum. He does his damndest to be awful but he just isn’t.
I’d do ANYTHING for Lady Cordelia too.
The twists and turns of the Who-don-it was completely a brain scratcher. We love a competent main character moment! The prose were so beautiful
I’m not usually a fan of historical fiction but this took the cake!
The stakes? MONUMENTAL. Although you don’t know until way later in the book which is fine. It keeps you guessing.
There is a romantic element in here. A slow-burn. I love it!”
