Margaret Evans Price began her art career at the tender age of 13, selling her first illustrated story to the Boston Journal in 1900. She worked for such publishers as Stecher Lithography, Harper & Brothers, and Rand McNally, and she co-founded the Fisher-Price toy manufacturing firm.
