By L.L. McKinney
A Blade So Black by L.L. McKinney digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

"A Blade So Black is the fantasy book I've been waiting for my whole life."
—Angie Thomas, #1 New York Times-bestselling author of The Hate U Give

For fans of Marissa Meyer, L.L. McKinney's A Blade So Black delivers an irresistible urban fantasy retelling of Alice in Wonderland... but it's not the Wonderland you remember.

The first time the Nightmares came, it nearly cost Alice her life. Now she's trained to battle monstrous creatures in the dark dream realm known as Wonderland with magic weapons and hardcore fighting skills. Yet even warriors have a curfew.

Life in real-world Atlanta isn't always so simple, as Alice juggles an overprotective mom, a high-maintenance best friend, and a slipping GPA. Keeping the Nightmares at bay is turning into a full-time job. But when Alice's handsome and mysterious mentor is poisoned, she has to find the antidote by venturing deeper into Wonderland than she’s ever gone before. And she'll need to use everything she's learned in both worlds to keep from losing her head... literally.

Debut author L.L. McKinney delivers an action-packed twist on an old classic, full of romance and otherworldly intrigue.

And don't miss the thrilling sequel, A Dream So Dark!

“OH MY. I picked this book up not expecting much, I grabbed it read a few pages and decided "why not?". As I started reading the first couple chapters I did not enjoy it I could not understand anything, mostly because I was not paying attention to it at all. I skimmed through the whole book and I suddenly read something that caught my attention. And then I went "HOLY CRAP!" and I began rereading it all over again and actually paying attention. Me being all frustrated at myself because I felt as I degraced this book by not giving it a far chance and I got really into it and I really enjoyed it. There was many parts of the book that I enjoyed I mostly enjoyed how it is a different version of Alice in Wonderland, and I actually really liked it. I have read many negative reviews and I honestly do not understand some, mostly since they are mostly extremely upsetting and inappropriate. Anyways that's not the point, you see I have a problem in which I start book series and I "research"on them to see if they interest me and I get sucked into them and I start thinking about them at all times of the day, I keep waiting for the perfect moment in which I am free just to feel that joy of picking up the book and reading it to pick up where I left off in the plot. Point is I told myself I would take a break on book series and here I go reading a book without researching it and I come to find out that I am left on a cliffhanger and there is a sequel to it... coming out in... Sep 2019. Now I am going to be thinking about this book for 7 months until it is published and another 3-4 months until I can get my hands on it. Great.”
