Publisher Description

It's finally time! Detective Lindsay Boxer is in labor-while two killers are on the loose.

Lindsay Boxer's beautiful baby is born! But after only a week at home with her new daughter, Lindsay is forced to return to work to face two of the biggest cases of her career.

A rising star football player for the San Francisco 49ers is the prime suspect in a grisly murder. At the same time, Lindsay is confronted with the strangest story she's ever heard: An eccentric English professor has been having vivid nightmares about a violent murder and he's convinced is real. Lindsay doesn't believe him, but then a shooting is called in-and it fits the professor's description to the last detail.

Lindsay doesn't have much time to stop a terrifying future from unfolding. But all the crimes in the world seem like nothing when Lindsay is suddenly faced with the possibility of the most devastating loss of her life.

“I'm so done with James Patterson 😒 I used to love his books even read some of his books for younger kids and I liked them! I grew up with maximum ride books, but lately I feel like he's just so blah. I'm not sure if I've just outgrown it, or if the writing has gone downhill, but it's such a slog to read his books. They're not bad, per se but I feel as though if you've read one, then you've read them all. I will admit I loved the women's murder club books in the beginning, but now that Lindsay has a baby things just seem a little lackluster. Also, why is she beating herself up for gaining a little extra weight? Sshe was pregnant cut the woman some slack! The author writes a little comment about her weight 2 or 3 times, like let it go! She doesn't need to snap right back to her pre pregnancy weight like a rubner band! I'm also wondering is her entire department completely inoperable when she's not there? I'm sorry but coming back for a case 1 week after having a baby seems unrealistic at best, and why is her husband pushing her to go work? I understand curbing anxiety with work, but my god let the woman relax for a second before shoving her back into the field with a serial killer! Her situation seemed completely unrealistic and she's portrayed as hating her body for gaining 25 pounds, she's not able to take her full leave, her bosses constantly ask her for help doing their jobs, and she's seemingly overly irrational to her baby's fever! She is right to be concerned it's a stressful time, she's a new mom and people are giving her grief about not talking to a deranged lunatic on the off chance he might tell her where he buried bodies 5 years ago. I think after this book, I might have to DNF the rest of this series. It was good in the beginning, but it's run it's course. I can only imagine the amount of relationship hurdles, baby issues, and career adjustments being laid out in the next 12 books. I don't have time for those anymore. For those who love Patterson, by all means keep reading the series, I support you and wish you luck in your endeavors. I may pick up other books of his in the future.”
