100 Knitted Tiles
ByPublisher Description
This collection of 100 beautiful knitted designs features patterns inspired by decorative ceramic tiles from around the world. You can use these designs to create your own projects, such as blankets or cushions – or try one of the five exciting projects, which show you other ways in which the tiles could be assembled. Let these inspire you to create your own projects and take the chance to try new techniques and experiment with different colour combinations.
Each tile has instructions to follow to complete the design. Many of the colourwork patterns are worked from a chart. Some of the texture and lace tiles also have a chart. You will need to read the instructions to understand when to work the chart or how many repeats to work.
All of the tiles and projects in this book have been designed with Scheepjes Metropolis yarn – a versatile fingering weight (4ply) yarn with a classic fibre blend of 75% extrafine Merino wool and 25% nylon. Metropolis has enough definition to handle cables and colourwork but also blocks beautifully in lace and textured projects. Named after worldwide cities, the yarn is available in 80 colours, making it the perfect choice for any of these tiles and projects you choose to knit.
